What We Grow

Clean Food

Everyone on the farms surrounding ours is required to farm according to organic practices.  But organic practices do allow the spraying of some chemicals, and that’s why our commitment is to No-Spray rather than Organic. We don’t believe in spraying, so we control insect damage using crop barriers that physically block insects from eating our crops.  We also prevent insect damage by planting crops according to a schedule that avoids the heaviest insect pressure.

Heirloom Varieties

We focus on heirloom varieties that maximize flavor rather than just looking at what varieties produce the most yield. We plant heirloom vegetable varieties because they taste better, they promote biodiversity, and they have intrinsic cultural value.  One of our main motivations is to keep these varieties alive and to teach people about them.

Fall Strawberry Project

When we started our farm, we knew that we wanted to grow fall or "everbearing" strawberries for our local customers.  We knew there was a high demand for fall fruit, but that strawberries require a high amount of labor.  Therefore, we are investing long-term in developing a growing system that will allow us to eventually produce this fantastic fruit on a larger scale.
